Flanders in 6

Flanders in 6There has been a lot of talk about this in the media lately and I thought I would take a bit of time to share it here on OppositeOcean. The tourism website, Visit Flanders, is starting up a new project designed to bring anyone and everyone real videos of Flanders taken by real, ordinary people. The website for Flanders in 6 invites people to share their 6-second videos on the video sharing app, Vine. When sharing your video on Vine, you add the hashtag #flandersin6 and then your video will show up among all the others tagged with #flandersin6 so that anyone searching the website will be able to see your amateur video-making skills and the lovely moments you captured of Flanders.

Here’s one of the videos taken in Ghent:

The easiest and most user-friendly way to see them, of course, is to download the Vine app on your smart phone and start exploring the hashtag #flandersin6. You can also visit the website and see the collection of the videos that have been added so far. Simply scroll over the videos and they will begin playing (you might want to adjust your volume).

Hope you enjoy a quick look into what our everyday life looks like here in Flanders. :)

I believe the videos are supposed to be 6 seconds long, not 6 minutes :)

There also an error in the link to “The website for Flanders in 6″. It says http// instead of http://

Thanks for pointing that out, Bjorn. I’ve fixed that link now. :)
